Date: October 9th, 2025 at  6:00 PM

Washington State Society of Clinical Social Work (WSSCSW) board members are hosting an informal social coffee hour. We do not have a set agenda. We want to meet up with clinical social workers and hear from you about your ideas and needs as we move forward as a community. In addition to hearing from you, it’s an opportunity to network and connect with other clinical social workers. If you work or live in the area, we hope you will swing by. The location is  The Hanger at 6728 Northeast 181st Street, Kenmore, WA 98028

More information and online registration: Join us for a casual coffee meet-up with Denise and Andy.

Best regards,

The purpose of anti-oppressive healing spaces is to be in community to discover deeper ways of interacting and being together through a liberatory lens. This circle is safe and holds boundaries for all participants as it focuses on commonalities and disarms differences compassionately. This anti-oppressive circle is not traditional therapy. Even though it is therapeutic, circles are meant to provide broader healing. This will be an online 1-hour circle that will not be recorded due to its nature (open circle/drop in).

Learning Objectives
    • Attendees will be given the space to attend monthly drop-in sessions to further develop/practice at least one self-care practice per session throughout the 2022 to 2023 fiscal year.
    • During the monthly one hour healing circles, attendees will be able to process the ways in which white supremacy affects one component of their wellness wheel.

    Presenter

Silvana Espinoza Lau, LMFT is in private practice and an embodied liberation coach for clinicians. Silvana supports mental health clinicians who want to incorporate liberation focused and anti-oppressive values in their practices. In her private practice Silvana serves primarily BIPoC individuals dealing with racial trauma, acculturations and immigration issues, and imposter syndrome. Silvana also provides clinical supervision and consultation to both licensed and pre-licensed clinicians with an anti-oppressive and decolonized focus.
