Join a Board Rooted in Compassion and Anti-Oppression Thank you for your interest in joining the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work (WSSCSW) Board of Directors. WSSCSW serves an extremely diverse community of clinical social workers and clients and because of this, we strongly believe that the make-up of our Board of Directors should reflect the diversity of the field and community. This exciting opportunity will allow you to be part of a supportive board that places our ethics and training into action to build community, provide legislative advocacy, lead cutting edge training, inspire the next generation of social workers, and make impactful and lasting change across Washington state. The purpose of the WSSCSW Board of Directors is to provide thoughtful leadership that advances the board's strategic plan. Through the skills, talents, advocacy, networks, and ongoing contributions of the board and committee volunteers, WSSCSW is able to continue to make a positive and lasting impact on communities throughout Washington state. Who We're Looking For Successful WSSCSW Board of Directors are energized clinical social workers who are committed and passionate about our mission. They are supportive of their peers and are successful in collaboratively working together to build WSSCSW's networks, to share innovative tools, to raise funds and expand friendships, to increase WSSCSW resources, to live out our social work ethics, to grow in their leadership, and to humanely put relationships first. Eligibility Board membership is limited to Washington State clinical social workers who are members in good standing. Selection Process All members interested in joining WSSCSW's Board of Directors may submit a brief application for consideration to the Nomination Committee. If the Nomination Committee believes that you would be a good fit for the board, you will be asked to meet with the committee for them to learn more about your interest and for you to ask questions and learn about the board role. If you and the committee would like to move forward with the position, you will then meet with the President to share your vision for the role and to discuss WSSCSW's strategic plan. If the President believes that you would be a good fit for the board, the Nomination Committee will submit your name for interim chair. After three months of volunteering your time, you and the President will meet to determine if the role is a good fit. If it is, then during the next board meeting you will be voted onto the Board of Directors with full voting rights.
