Bridging the Gaps: Mental Health Care for Gender Dysphoria

This training is designed for mental health providers who wish to advance their treatment for gender diverse clients across the age span. We will examine the standards of care for supporting clients in medical transition and discuss therapeutic techniques to address gender dysphoria.There will also be an emphasis on assessment of gender dysphoria for clients of all ages.

To register for this training, you must have already completed introductory training to working with gender diverse clients as this course is an intermediary level.

Please be prepared to share what training you have already completed when registering for this course including the name of the past training and date of completion.

Using case examples, visual slides, and small group discussion, we intend to achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Accurately diagnose gender dysphoria in adults
  • Accurately diagnose gender dysphoria in children
  • Create examples of affirming letters for referrals to medical transition
  • Demonstrate age-appropriate behavioral interventions for gender dysphoria
