CSWA joined NASW, CSWE, and ASWB to develop standards for the use of technology in social work practice.  This two-year project has resulted in the document that was released in June.

Laura Groshong, LICSW, CSWA Director of Policy and Practice, was the CSWA representative to this group and was the lead on the section called “Designing and Delivering Services”, the area that addresses how to use technology in clinical social work practice. 

In these webinars Laura will summarize how the Standards have taken an ethical approach to the use of technology in clinical social work practice including:

1. providing psychotherapy; 

2. application to supervision; 

3. use of social media; and 

4. gathering and storing patient records.
