Upcoming event information:

Informal Coffee Meet-Up w/ Denise and Andy at The Hanger at 6728 Northeast 181st Street, Kenmore, WA 98028

Date: October 9th, 2025 at  6:00 PM

Washington State Society of Clinical Social Work (WSSCSW) board members are hosting an informal social coffee hour. We do not have a set agenda. We want to meet up with clinical social workers and hear from you about your ideas and needs as we move forward as a community. In addition to hearing from you, it’s an opportunity to network and connect with other clinical social workers. If you work or live in the area, we hope you will swing by. The location is  The Hanger at 6728 Northeast 181st Street, Kenmore, WA 98028

More information and online registration: Join us for a casual coffee meet-up with Denise and Andy.

Best regards,

Counting on Kindness, by author Wendy Lustbader, MSW

Seattle social worker Wendy Lusbader is known for her engaging storytelling as well as her expertise in the area of aging. Here she writes about a subject that many of us don’t consider until we are personally involved in a care giving relationship, either needing to count on the kindness of others or when life calls on us to care for someone in our own family. Her book touches on sovereignty, autonomy, regret, loyalty and much more. “Many books have been written in support of caregivers, but this is still the only book depicting the dilemmas of dependency from the point of view of the person needing assistance.
