ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
On October 1, 2015, all the Diagnostic Codes that mental health clinicians use will be changed with the implementation of ICD-10-CM. These new codes are connected to DSM-5 and the new narratives for mental health disorders.
Learn how to make the necessary changes in your practice by attending this training, a continuation of the Coalition’s efforts to educate its members and the mental health community over the past 5 years. Don’t get “Code Fried”!
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
1. Summary of conceptual changes to DSM-5 from DSM-IV-TR
2. New ‘spectrum’ instead of ‘silo’ approach to diagnosis
3. New categories of diagnoses, e.g., gender dysphoria, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, addiction disorders, etc.
4. Assessment tools that replace multi-axial system
5. ICD-10 summary
6. Changes from ICD-9
7. New diagnostic codes in ICD-10
8. Vignettes to illustrate ICD-10 and DSM-5

has been providing trainings on code changes for several years.
Tanya Ranchigoda, LICSW,
has been a lecturer at the University of Washington School of Social Work on DSM-5 for several years as well.
