Originally recorded April 7, 2022. Muslim clients have reported different experiences with therapy. From experiencing religious micro-aggressions to feeling unsafe in the therapeutic space. Muslim clients seeking therapy in the United States are known to face numerous barriers. This presentation aims to provide therapists with an understanding of the different barriers Muslim clients face when deciding to start therapy, important cultural considerations, as well as using multicultural orientation (MCO) when treating Muslim clients.
