This workshop brings a panel of experienced psychotherapists to share their best advice and answer questions about starting out in private practice. Following the panel is a presentation on ethical marketing practices as you grow your practice.
Objectives1. Identify two strengths/ talents needed for a successful private practice. 2. Identify two marketing strategies that promote a successful private practice.
Karen Hansen, LICSW has been in private practice 35 years in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. She sees individual and couples for developmental trauma and treatment for anxiety and depression. She also offers Approved Supervision. She is a graduate of the UW School of Social Work, and has pursued her post graduate clinical training in Object Relations, Family Therapy, and Somatic Transformation work. Karen is a past president of the Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work, and a past board member of the Clinical Social Work Association.
Shirley Bonney, LICSW has been a clinical social worker for 43 years and began practicing as a post graduate fellow at the Menninger School of Psychiatry. She moved to Seattle and began private practice in 1982, before social workers even had certification. She sees late adolescents and adults, individuals and couples/families, and does clinical supervision. Melissa Wood-Brewster, LICSW received her MSW in 1998 from Bryn Mawr College. She spent 5 years working at Sound Mental Health in their Deaf Services Program, supporting deaf and hard of hearing children and adults and their family members. She has now been in private practice for 14 years and continues to specialize in working with deaf adults as well as with loved ones of addicts.

Parking is readily available on the street, in the parking garage, or on street level parking lots.
Refund Policy Fees may be refunded minus a $20 administrative charge and any online payment fees, up to two weeks prior to the meeting date: Friday, January 26, 2018. No refunds given after this date. WSSCSW allows registration without payment two weeks prior to an event. If payment is not received one week prior to an event, registration will be cancelled.
