Not the Price of Admission, by author Laura Brown, PhD Dr. Laura Brown turns her compassionate voice towards the client in her most recent book about the lessons often learned in childhood by people raised in abusive and neglectful households. “To have connections with others you've paid a price of admission to relationships, sacrificing your values, your safety, your sense of personal worth, and sometimes your financial security. You've felt unworthy of love.” This book invites the reader to re-examine some of the lessons past abuse has taught and begin to move towards more satisfying ways of being in relationship with others.
